In Bangladesh we are cooperating with a very reliable partner. The qualified surgeon Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman promotes the development of a high-quality treatment of cleft children together with us. Every year he closes more than 300 clefts. The surgery campaigns take place nationwide and in smaller local hospitals in order to create trust and to win over parents to have their children undergo surgery. In Bangladesh the rural people are often afraid to entrust their children to doctors and to travel to the cities for medical treatment. Educational work regarding the treatment of a cleft deformity is therefore an important part of our activities in Bangladesh.
